ELIZABETH RUTHVEN GOETTLE
Elizabeth ?Beth? Ruthven Goettle went to be with the lord on Sunday, October 8, 2006. Mrs. Goettle was born June 5, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland to Douglas J. Ruthven and Florence D. Jarrett. She was a teacher, poet and artist, and enjoyed swimming, reading, photography, and studying Christianity and religion. She was only selfish to herself to do for all others, a cheerful and bright person loving the Lord with all her heart. Mrs. Goettle taught Biology for over 25 years at Longview High School. She was also a member of the East Texas Writers Group and the Rusk County Poets. Beth was a very loving mother of four children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Goettle, a sister, Margaret Elaine Ruthven, her mother, and one daughter, Claire Goettle Noble. She is survived by two sons and a daughter. Florence J. and spouse Armando L. Garza of Alpine, Texas, Albert and Marla Goettle, and Paul and Lisa Goettle of Longview. Her grandchildren are Armando Walter Garza, Erin and Amy Goettle, Heather Rogers, Amanda Rogers, Michael Goettle, and Brandon Murray, along with five great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday, October 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Memory Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at the funeral home.
