Elizabeth A. "Betty" Howard's Obituary
Mass of Christian burial for Elizabeth A. Howard, 96, is set for 2:00 PM, Friday, February 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Longview, with the Rev. Denzil Vithanage officiating. The Rosary will be recited prior to Mass at 1:30 PM, at St. Mary's. Interment will be immediately following Mass at Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. Howard died Saturday morning, January 26, in Longview. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Betty was born in Buffalo, NY on August 29, 1916 to John and Liz Cody. She married Ed Howard in 1941 and followed him to Batavia, NY where he was a player manager for the Batavia Clippers baseball team. They remained there over 50 years to work and raise their family. They relocated to Longview almost twenty years ago.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, W. Edward Howard, son William E. Howard, and brothers James, John, and Joseph Cody.
She is survived by her son Robert Howard of Prosper, daughter Ann and husband William Miller of Longview, and daughter-in-law Lourdes Howard of New Jersey. She leaves behind many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
