Elenor Kathleen Henry's Obituary
Elenor Kathleen "Kathy" Henry went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2012 at 10:45 AM at the age of eighty-eight, in the home of her daughter Jimmie Lobue in Longview, TX.
Mrs. Henry was born April 9, 1924 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana to her parents John and Gladys Griffis. She graduated from Jefferson High School in May of 1941 and married Calvin Henry on September 14th of that same year. They moved to Longview in 1947 where they raised five children. Throughout her life she worked as a nurse and managed convenience stores for Fastop Foods. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and fishing with her family.
Mrs. Henry is survived by her children: Diann Pickard and husband Terry of Kilgore, Judy Sewell of Henderson, Jimmie Lobue and husband Steve of Longview, Buddy Henry and wife Tina of Henderson and Carla Aycock and husband Gary of Longview; her grandchildren: Shannon Pickard and wife Amanda, Derenda Pepper and husband Monty, Starlet Sattler and husband Gary, Rick Gregory and wife Kim, Steven Gregory, Jason Barnes and wife Teresa, Marty Barnes and wife Shelia, Tiffani Barnes, Al Grush, and Amber Grush; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Byrd and husband Burney of Forth Worth and one sister-in-law Evelyn Parr of Longview and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Calvin Henry and her parents John and Gladys Griffis, her step-mother Zenobia Griffis, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at Rader Funeral Home in Longview Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Rob Parsons will officiate. Pallbearers are: Steven Gregory, Rick Gregory, Shannon Pickard, Marty Barnes, Jason Barnes, and Burney Ray Byrd. Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Interment will be following the service at Memory Park Cemetery. For information contact Rader Funeral Home.
