Funeral services for Effie Strawn Vaughan, 85, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Bryan Hunter and Robert Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 13, at 10 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, Irving, TX. She passed away Sunday morning, October 9, in a Longview nursing center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vaughan was born January 19, 1920, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to James and Viola Raspberry Strawn. She was a retired mail order clerk for Sears & Roebuck Co. and a member of the Longview Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Norell, and her husband, Robert Lester Vaughan.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Oweita Strawn of Longview; and her nieces and nephews, Glenda Kay Hunter, Elizabeth Stegall and Dickie Dingman, Gary Burce Strawn, Susan McGinty, and Ronnie Strawn Condor.
