EDWIN ROE BLEDSOE
Memorial services for Edwin Roe Bledsoe , 84, will be held at a later date. Mr. Bledsoe died Thursday, October 16th at his residence near Marshall. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
A resident of the Marshall area for 60 plus years, he was born in Friendship, Tennessee on February 16, 1924 to William Thomas and Mary Ethel Roe Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II during which he was awarded the Purple Heart, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. After 30 years of service, he retired as shop supervisor for Southwest Metering Supply and later worked as operator and manager of Cypress Valley Water Supply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Bledsoe and Mary Ethel Bledsoe George; his step-father, John Thomas George; a brother and sister, Willie Joe Bledsoe and Mary Edith Bledsoe Haden; 7 half-brothers and half-sisters; 10 step-brothers and step-sisters and 2 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Bledsoe of Marshall; son, Kenneth Wayne Bledsoe of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, James Alan and Sandy Woods Bledsoe of Mt. Home, Arkansas; daughters, Patricia Ann Bledsoe King of Tyler and Mary Helen Bledsoe Wallace of Longview; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
