Edwin Forest Graham's Obituary
Edwin Forrest Graham of White Oak, formerly of Redding, CT., died Friday November 4, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Carmine Graham.
Ed was born on September 14, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Texas A&M, Commerce, Texas. Ed started his career at Commerce Journal and then onto Fairchild Publications in Dallas, Texas. Ed relocated to Connecticut in 1969 and worked for Micromedex, Denver, CO in sales. Ed also started TLC Caterers in Danbury, CT., and organized the grand opening of Danbury Fair Mall. Ed worked for Health Monitor Publications as Vice President and Associate Publisher in New York City. Ed spent 40 years in Media Sales and Publishing. Ed and his wife, Elizabeth and 2 dogs moved to Texas in 2005 settling in White Oak.
While in Danbury, CT, on September 16, 1981, Ed received the Mid-Western Council on Alcoholism Special Service award for the Leadership, Devotion and Fortitude that he demonstrated as President in Guiding the Council as it expanded its service to the community. Ed received the Texas A&M University – Commerce Foundation honors award as a member of the "Circle of Pride" in gratitude of support to Texas A&M University-Commerce for 2001-2002. Ed served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. Ed was a member of the Greggton Rotary, Master Mason of Pinetree Masonic Lodge #1396, proud member of Bill Wilson for 36 years, Artema Fraternity, served several terms as Vice President of the White Oak Educational Foundation, and board member of the SeaSaw Children's Place.
Ed is survived by his wife and 37 years, Elizabeth, son, David Paige of Brookfield, CT., daughters, Robin Tiso and husband Philip of Cheshire, CT, Ellen Marie Caccia and husband Christopher of Hidden Valley, CA, Melanie Proctor and husband Stanton of Phuket, Thailand, ten 10 beloved grandchildren and three 3 great grandchildren, sister, Susan Sewell of Clover, SC, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and his loved dogs, Charlie, Annie and Katy.
Viewing will be at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview on Wednesday November 9, 2011, 5-8 pm. Services will be on Thursday November 10, 2011 at Rader's Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at a later date.
Ed had a great love for animals so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Northeast Texas, 303 Enterprise St., Longview, Texas 75604.
