Celebration for the life of Edwin Dewey Arnn, 77, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4715 Tenneryville Rd., Longview, with Dr. Prentiss McGee and Reverend David McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
"The angels took my sweetheart of 60 years into our loving Saviors arms on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Praise God for taking the sting of death out of his homegoing."
Mr. Arnn was born in Old Ruth, NV to Edwin, Sr. and Vesta Arnn on February 18, 1934. He graduated from White Pine County High School in Ely, NV. He attended Logan University for 1 year, then was drafted in the U. S. Army, where he served for 2 years in heavy artillery during the Korean Conflict.
He was a parts manager for several automobile dealerships in the East Texas area for numerous years. After his retirement, he founded Precious Pets Sitters, and was still tending to peoples precious pets thru December of 2010 at Christmas.
He asked Jesus in his heart January 29, 1956, and has been serving Him faithfully since then. He served as deacon for the last 17 years at Calvary Baptist Church in Gladewater. God has allowed him to have a hospital, shut in and nursing home ministry for 17 years.
Mr. Arnn was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Kathy Wyatt Puckett; brother-in-law, Cecil Wyatt, Jr.; and father-in-law, Tom Ford.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Tommie Jean Arnn of Longview; children, Edwin Chester "Chet" Arnn and wife Ann of Longview and Thomas Eugene Arnn, of Sacramento, CA, formerly of Longview; grandchildren, Dustin and Destiny, Chesley and Terrence, Bryan and Ashley, and Krystal; great grandchildren, Phillip and Hudson; former daughter-in-law, Debbie; sister, Helen and niece Vesta of Florida; sister-in-law, Hazel Marie Fell and husband Frank; brother-in-law, John Puckett of Washington; and loving mother-in law Faye Ford and all the Ford family.
