Edward Wain Bell's Obituary
Edward ?Sonny? Bell received his crown of glory on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at his residence. Services for Edward Wain Bell will be Friday, October 29, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Judson Road, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hallsville Cemetery.
Sonny is retired from the city of Longview Water Department, where he was a supervisor. Sonny enjoyed camping and fishing.
He was born in Littlefield, Texas on November 18, 1933. He moved his family to Longview in 1967. He worked for the City of Longview for 24 years. He retired in 1993. He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a member of the West Harrison Water Board.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvonne. Daughters and son-in-laws; Diane and David Sholars of Tyler and their children, James, Katie, and Sam. Debbie and Jeff West of New Diana and their children, Jessica, Joshua and Holly. Sons and daughter-in-laws; Dennis and Debbie Grace Bell of Longview and their children, Christine and John Taylor. David and Debbie Bell of Hallsville and their daughter, Felicia. A sister, Edna Williams and a very special niece, Connie Martin and her husband, Larry.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Work Bell and Ethel Mary, brothers, Elbert Bell, Melvin Bell, Everett Ball and Twin ?Buddy? Edwin Bell, sisters, Eura Johnston, Eva Dee Mason and Ruby Mae Metts. Nephew, Eddie Bell and granddaughter, Jennifer Bell.
When Sonny lived in Littlefield he built the largest windmill in the world. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, he had pigeons and worked for the Littlefield Water Department.
Sonny was a man who loved his Savior and showed that love daily in his own way to his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Everyone who ever met Sonny never forgot him. He will be missed by many. He was a good father, a great grandfather and most of all a loving husband.
Our Daddy, Papa, brother, uncle and friend will be missed more than words can say, but we take comfort in the fact that he is in the arms of his heavenly family and we stand on the promise we will all be together someday.
