Edward "Lee" Childers' Obituary
Edward “Lee” Childers of Longview passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home. He was born in Salem, Ill. in 1943. He joined the Army in 1961 and went to Kilgore College with his daughter. Mr. Childers spent many years in the oilfield and worked for Sheriff Bobby Weaver for many years. He was a member of Judson First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Sparks and step-father, Cecil Sparks, and his sister Sharon Childers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Leighann Upendran and husband Ilanko; son Christopher Childers; 2 twin grandchildren, Kayalan and Suriya Upendran, all of Tyler; his wife of 48 years, Vickie Childers; brother, Jerry Don Childers and wife Sammie and their son and his wife, Brannon and Paige Childers.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, October 16, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
