Edward "Ed" Camaille Jr's Obituary
EDWARD J. CAMAILLE, Jr., age 72, of Hallsville, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home with his daughter Christina by his side, on June 13, 2026.
Edward was born on August 24, 1954 and preceded in death by his parents Edward J. Camaille, Sr., and Agnes Myrtle Camaille and his younger sister, Patricia Dickey.
Edward was a man of faith and a devout Catholic. He had many interests, particularly, racing and rebuilding cars. He took pride in mowing his yards and helping others in the community with many different tasks, He loved gardening and giving away his produce.
Brenda remembers their time playing in the dirt with marbles and toy cars, and even double-dated as they got older.
Gay says she will never forget the many times at church with her brother attending Bible study and catechism. also she remembers going to the drag strip to watch him race.
Edward is survived by two daughters; Christina Penny and Melissa Camaille,
grandchildren: Haylee Penny, Sabra Carrell, Liam Camaille, and two great-grandchildren: Neva Carrell, Ava Carrell, Two sisters; Brenda Camaille Berry and Gay Lynn Martin. Nieces: Pamela Malone and family, and Samantha Berry and family. Nephews T.J. Dickey, Joseph Dickey, and Lee Dickey.
Those who knew Edward will remember him most for his kind and generous spirit.
He was always eager to help others. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him and the lives he touched.
In his last few months he enjoyed spending time with his daughter and great-grandchildren, and still helped his friends work on mowers and cars at his shop.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5-7PM at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. There will be a time of viistaion form 5-6:30PM and a Catholic Rosary from 6:30-7PM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Hallsville. Burial will follow at Hallsville Cemetery.
