Edward C. Pearson
Edward C. Pearson of Longview, TX. died November 29, 2009 at Longview regional Medical Center following a short illness. He was born in Katy, TX. on December 4, 1919.
He served in the U. S. Navy for 22 years retiring in 1965. He then worked in Houston, TX. for Big Three Industries until 1983 when he and his wife moved to Lake Cherokee to enjoy retirement. In retirement he loved living at the lake where he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening. He was also a volunteer at Good Shepherd Medical Center and at the age of 70 obtained a Paramedic Certificate. Following the death of his wife, Jeannette in 2001 he moved to Longview in 2005 and resided at Colonial Village until 2008 when he moved to Hawkins Creek Memory Care where he lived until his death.
Survivors include sons, Edward and his wife Ethel Pearson of Texarkana, TX., Richard and wife, Faith Ann Pearson of Longview. Grandchildren Paula and husband, Mike Miller and children Kayla and Casey of Texarkana, TX., Regina Pearson and daughter Hannah, and Brian and Hannah Brooks and children Trace, Parker, and Audrey of Crowley, TX., sisters, Francis Yarbrough, Martha Longshore, Lois Smith and brother
Wayne Pearson of Texas City and LaMarque, TX., and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Two O'clock PM Saturday December 5, 2009 at the Kilgore City Cemetery, Kilgore, Texas with Reverend Brian Brooks, Reverend Virginia Wall, and Reverend Dick Dobbins officiating. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday December 4, 2009 from 6-7:30 pm.
