She is also survived by Brother, William Billiard, sister-in-laws Sarah Howell and Lenora Moore, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eddie grew up as the daughter of a carpenter. Her parents also owned a boarding house near the University of Illinois campus where she helped her mother cook and clean. During her teen years her parents bought a farm and moved to the country near Fisher, IL where she earned her diploma. She helped out in all aspects of farming from gardening to running the large farm equipment. She was a model in her teen years, and studied cosmetology. She had a passion for making people look beautiful, so she opened her own hair salon in downtown Champaign. She married James Weaver, and had two beautiful children (Theresa and Jason). Her second marriage to Charles Moore brought 3 existing children into the fold (Faith, Fawn and Rebecca), which she treated as her own. They were married for 44 years. She worked for the IL Power Company until she retired and moved to Alabama with her husband Charles, and then eventually they moved to Texas to be closer to their daughter Rebecca. Eddie loved to cook, play games (especially cards), and work on puzzles with friends and family. She also had a passion for ancestry research. After losing Charles and then being diagnosed with lung cancer, she had recently decided to move back to Illinois and in with her daughter Theresa, so that she could have more support and care and was looking forward to snuggling with her great-grandbabies, and getting well enough to cook again with her daughter Theresa. God had other plans, and chose to call her home on their way up to Illinois. She will be greatly missed by all.
A special thanks to the help at Parkview on Hollybrook and to her special caretakers/friends, Mary Dobbs, Christian Dobbs, Virginia Pinia, and Alexandra Palmer. Donations can be made to HeartsWay Hospice, PO Box 5608 Longview, TX 75608.
A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Park in Longview, Texas, on May 24, 2025 at 10am.
