Edna Lee Rasco's Obituary
Edna Lee Rasco, 89, of Longview Texas passed away Tuesday night August 3, 2010 at a local Longview hospital after a brief illness. She is survived by a son, George Witt of Tyler Texas; daughter and her husband; Pat and Fred Horne of Longview, 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rasco was born on March 23, 1921 in Ouachita Parish Louisiana to Albert Stozier and Vernada Purvis moving to Longview Texas in 1961. She is preceded in death by her husband Theo D. "Ted" Rasco in 1983, and a grandson, Chris Martin in 1994. Edna Rasco was a registered nurse having worked as a surgical nurse at Medical Center Hospital in Tyler; Staff nurse and director of Vocational Nursing School at Nan Travis Hospital; visiting nurse for Home Health Nursing Services in Jacksonville Texas retiring in 1979. She was a member of the DAV Marine Auxiliary in Jacksonville; associate member of the 2nd Marine Division Association, and California Chapter of the 2nd Marine Division. Edna was a devoted member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Longview. Services will be held at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Friday morning August 6, 2010 at 10am with Deacon Carl Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening August 4, 2010 from 6 to 8pm. Interment will be at Bullard Community Cemetery in Bullard Texas around 1:00pm.
