Edith LaBelle Lowry's Obituary
Services for Edith LaBelle Lowry, 70, of Longview will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 beginning at 2pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. The family would like to greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm on Sunday November 1st. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2015.
Edith was born in Overton TX on February 21, 1945 to parents H. J. Hill and Nellie Ruth Copeland. Edith attended and graduated from Lovington High School in Lovington NM. Following high school, Edith enlisted in the US Army and faithfully served this Country. During her time in the Army, Edith married the love of her life, Roger Lowry in Fort Rucker AL; and having a wonderful son. Edith enjoyed singing to everybody that would listen and was fondly remembered by friends in nursing homes her wonderful voice. Edith was a mother above everything else that she accomplished in her life. She loved spending time with her son, and her grandchildren watching the Rangers as a family; and her face would brighten with joy when her grandchildren would come to see her.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, H. J. Hill and Nellie Ruth Copeland. Those that remain to cherish their memories of Edith include her husband of 40 years, Roger H Lowry; son Jonathan David Lowry and wife Heather of Liberty City TX; grandchildren Jonathan Paul, and Erika Bailey Jo Lowry; brothers Paul Copeland and wife Rena of Gladewater TX, Charles Copeland and wife Nadine of Las Cruces NM, Bud and wife Rhonda Copeland of Aransas Pass TX, and Ray Copeland of Lovington NM; Edith is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, members of the American Legion, to the people of the Veteran Affairs, and any other friends that cared for Edith in her times of need.
