Edgar Clifford McAvoy's Obituary
Edgar Clifford McAvoy, age 70 of Henderson, passed away Saturday October 25, 2008 in a Tyler Hospital. A time of remembrance and visitation will be held Monday October 27, 2008 from 6pm until 8pm at the Rader Funeral Home in Henderson. He will be buried in the National Cemetery in Dallas at a later date.
Edgar C. McAvoy was born November 22, 1937 in Ottawa, Canada. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 18, 1963 where he spent 20 years in the Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserve . After his retirement from the military he sold industrial tools for Cooper Tools in Georgia. In 1989 he moved from Georgia to Henderson where he worked as a substitute school teacher and drove a school bus.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Verna McAvoy, a son Rodney McAvoy, brothers Robert & Richard McAvoy.
He is survived by his wife Bobbye Carole McAvoy of Henderson, sons, Russell McAvoy of Winnie, Collin McAvoy of Dallas, step sons Tony & Terry Bradberry of Henderson, daughter in law Lilly McAvoy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brother Dennis McAvoy of Cedartown Georgia, sister Mary Ann Bagwell of Henderson, Nevada, grandchildren Chris & Kenny McAvoy of Albuquerque, NM, and Spencer & Tori Bradberry of Henderson.
