Earnest Theodore Haak
Earnest Theodore Haak, 85, of Diana went home to be with the Lord October 30, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Morton Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in Eagle Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Haak faithfully served his country with the United States NAVY on the U.S.S. Gilliam in the Pacific during World War II. For his dedication and service, Mr. Haak will receive full military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday evening November 1, 2005 at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
Mr. Haak is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Taylor Haak; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and William Lane; son and daughter-in-law, Earnest and Esther Haak; seven grandchildren, Earnest L. Haak, Jr. of Wylie, Steele Lane of Carrollton, Kelly Lane Armstrong of Richardson, Shonda Haak Juarez of Tyler, Derek Haak of Holly Lake, Stephanie Haak Turner of Mansfield, and Stacie Haak DeWett of College Station; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, L.G. Haak of Hamilton, Gene Haak of Tennessee Colony; one sister, Pearl Haak of Pollock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special little dog, Pattyann.
He was born on June 8, 1920 in Oakville to Wesley and Laura Haak. He was an active member of Morton Baptist Church. Since 1949 Mr. Haak has been a member of the Painter and Allied Trades Local Union #53. Prior to retirement, he worked as a glazer for Longview Glass Co. and Mar Tex Glass.
