Earl Dale Johnson's Obituary
Memorial services for Earl Dale Johnson, 74, of Longview, will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 3, 2008, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Warbington officiating. Burial will follow in Noonday Cemetery in Hallsville. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday, February 28 in Longview. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday March 2, 2008 from 2-4pm.
Mr. Johnson was born October 20, 1933 in Simms, Texas to Richard Earl and Dovie Taylor Johnson. He was a 1952 graduate of Texas High in Texarkana and a 1956 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He later owned and operated a local automotive parts business in Longview before retiring in 1987. He was an avid archer and bow hunter and lifetime member of the Texas and National Field Archery Associations as well as the Longview Archery Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Earl Johnson, and mother, Dovie Taylor Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Johnson of Longview; daughters and son-in-law Mary and Donald Armstrong of Longview and Kris and Lynn Williams of Georgetown; grandchildren Matthew and Luke Armstrong of Longview and Henry and Haley Williams of Georgetown; sister, Barbara McKeever of Hallsville along with several nieces and nephews.
