Dwight was a faithful friend. I met him at Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant in the early 1980s when he began working for Thiokol Corporation. I worked as a chemical engineer and Dwight worked as a chemist. Thus, we interfaced on various projects.
I remember visiting him at this home in Hallsville, Texas, and he would visit me at my home in Marshall, Texas. We went out to eat together. I enjoyed our fellowship because we could talk about the Lord Jesus Christ.
After I moved back to Colorado, Dwight invited me on a ski trip and after that I invited him and his Texas friends to ski in Breckenridge, Colorado several times. We used a condo my parents had part ownership in. Fred, Dwight’s brother joined us, too. I have fond memories of the ski trips.
I was able to visit with Dwight’s sister, Kim, recently about Dwight. It was glad I was able to meet her via a phone conversation.
On my visits to East Texas, after I moved back to Colorado, Dwight was very hospitable and let me stay with him. I went to church with him at Mobberly Baptist Church and witnessed him teaching Sunday School. It was great to fellowship with Dwight and his friends from church.
I will miss my good friend, Dwight, but I do not want him back on this earth. He is God’s son and I am so thankful he was my good friend. We will meet again someday where there will be no more sickness, sin, or pain. We will get to talk to Jesus together. In Christ, we have much to look hope and a great future!
I know I can conclude by stating Dwight lived a life that glorified Christ. He was a man of integrity.
