Dr. James M. Richardson, Jr.
Memorial Service for Dr. James M. Richardson, Jr. 65, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Longview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Rogers officiating. Dr. Richardson passed away in Longview on Sunday, January 2, 2011, from liver cancer. Dr. Richardson was born on June 6, 1945 in Waco, Texas to J.M. And Lurlene Richardson. The family moved to Longview, Texas one year later where Dr. Richardson continued to reside for 64 years. Dr. Richardson graduated from Longview High School in 1963, moved to Nacogdoches where he attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University on May 20, 1967, with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He continued his education at the University of Texas Dental School in Houston, Texas where he graduated on May 17, 1971. Upon returning to the Longview area, Dr. Richardson established his residence at Lake Cherokee, where he lived for over 25 years. For nearly 40 years, he practiced dentistry in Hallsville. He was a faithful member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a devoted Sunday School teacher and choir member for many years. Dr. Richardson is survived by his wife Lisa Cashon Richardson, his parents J.M. And Lurlene Richardson, children Pamela Paul and husband Adam of Frisco, Paula Harp and husband Chris of Longview, Robert Richardson of Nacogdoches, Step-son Jordan Johnson and wife Emily, grandchildren Katelyn and Abigail Paul of Frisco, and Collin and Conner Harp of Longview.
