Doyle "Bud" Leon Darden's Obituary
Please join the family for visitation for Doyle Leon Darden "Bud", 79, Thursday, June 27, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview Texas from 6-8 p.m. Services will be at East Mountain Baptist Church, on East Mountain Road, Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m.
Mr. Darden was born Oct 31, 1933, in Overton, Texas to the late Freeman Darden and Nellie C. Darden. He was preceded in death by his parens, three brothers; Horace, Carl, and Charley, and a son, Doug Darden. Mr. Darden graduated from Leverettes Chapel High School in 1952 where he remained an active alumnus. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr.Darden was a 32nd degree Mason and a dedicated member of East Mountain Baptist Church since 1970. Bud enjoyed traveling and square dancing and telling jokes. Nothing made him happier than exploring the country in an R.V. surrounded by good friends and having them laugh at one of his entertaining stories or jokes.

Mr. Darden made his home in White Oak, Texas. He died quietly at home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 24, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mellye Densman Darden. Also, three daughters and sons in law, Jimmy and Gina Hasley, Mickey and Leigh Ann Bryce, and Jon and Dee Laine Harshaw. Grandchildren; Danny, Katie, Justin Darden, Ginger Hasley Davis, Jeremy, Jaron, Joel Hasley, Hanna Bryce Hannes, Bekah Bryce Bauman, Leah Bryce, Holly Harshaw. Great grand children Haylee Blankenship and Thomas Davis.
