Doyal Dean Myers' Obituary
Graveside services for Doyal Dean Myers, 88, of Henderson, Texas, will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Memory Park in Longview with Tom Jones officiating. Mr. Myers passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning in a Longview nursing home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM.
Dean was born in Brownsboro, TX to Henry Myers and Maybelle Pinkard Myers on August 25, 1929. He was married to the love of his life, Teresa Wylie Myers, on April 16, 1949. Mr. Myers worked for Ben E Keith in Fort Worth and Longview for 30 years. He and Teresa were active with a bowling league at Oil Bowl Lanes for several years. He was also an active cattle rancher during his retirement. Dean and Teresa were foster parents for 25 years and fostered 50 children during that time. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Henderson, TX.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Oretha Barton, Mozelle Hight, Alta Lowe.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Teresa Wylie Myers of Henderson; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Rae Myers, Mineola; children Ronny and Liz Myers, Gilmer; Diana and Ben Liles, Houston; Larry and Debra Myers, Hallsville; Penny Arnold and Neal Tapps, Tyler; Troy and Maurita Myers, Longview; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
