Douglas E. Childree's Obituary
Memorial services for Douglas E. Childree will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Rosewood Park Mausoleum at 2pm. Douglas went to be with the Lord in the early morning of Wednesday, April 10, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Douglas was born on November 4, 1946 in Pittsburg TX to Herman and Vivian Childree. He attended and graduated from Daingerfield High School, then enlisted in the US Army in which he proudly and honorably served the Country. He soon returned to East Texas, but never lost the pride he felt having been in the Army. In his later life, Douglas enjoyed working on his lawn. He became a father, and found joy as a grandfather. Douglas also loved his Lord, and showed his faith in Christ through the actions that he made.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Vivian Childree. Those left to cherish their memories of Douglas include his wife of 46 years, Billie Childree; daughter Susan Kay Applegate and her husband Matthew; son Jeff Childree; and grandchildren Maycee and Ashlyn. He will also be remembered by his numerous extended family and friends.
