Dot was a caring, giving, kind, yet stern mother and grandmother to her three children and thirteen grandchildren. She was loved and respected by so many, and especially so by her grandchildren and their spouses. She worked hard during her very full life and believed hard work was the secret to staying young. Dot?s Drapery Shop made quality handmade draperies and upholstery cherished by buyers and interior decorators throughout East Texas. Not ever wanting to let anyone down, Dot continued to work well into her eighties when a returning customer would contact her with a special request. At her home in North Longview her greetings were always followed with ?Have you had lunch?? and her good-byes always included, ?Do you need anything?.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, from 6 to 8 PM Friday, April 7. Services will be held at Summerfield Methodist United Methodist Church at 10 AM Saturday, April 8 with Reverends Gerald Phillips and Bud Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Summerfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Summerfield United Methodist Church, Judson, Texas or Greater Hospice of Longview.
