Dorothy Reast 's Obituary
Services for Dorothy Wendeborn Reast, 92, of Longview, will be held at Rader Funeral Home in
Longview, on Friday May 18th at 1:00 p.m. with visitation at 12:00 noon. Officiating Reverend David
Dusek. Mrs. Reast went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 15th. Born Dorothy G. Wendeborn, on
February 24, 1926 in Dorchester, Texas, Grayson County, to Louis and Mary Wendeborn.
Mrs. Reast enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and watching her grandchildren’s ball games. She
followed the Roughnecks and Ladynecks, the UT Tyler Patriots and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles as a
fan because of her grandchildren as she loved being a Mamaw. She was a lifetime-member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Grayson County and a member of the Pine Tree PTA Executive
Board. Mrs. Reast was a past Camp Fire leader and member of the Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian
Church. She loved Bingo, the Dallas Cowboys and was a dog lover.
Survivors are her daughter, Janet Reast Copeland and husband Glenn of Longview, Grandchildren and
spouses: Clay and Tara Copeland of Poolville TX, Scott and Hillary Copeland of Hattiesburg MS, Shelby
and Nathan Skeen of White Oak TX. Great grandchildren include Travis, Landry, Peyton and Ryder
Copeland of Poolville TX, Sutton Reast Copeland of Hattiesburg MS and Easton and Paxton Skeen of
White Oak TX. Nieces and Nephews, Carol and Bob Moore of Sherman TX, Cheri Webb of College
Station TX, Robert Atwood of Austin TX, Dana and Justin Martinez of Iola TX and Kim and Justin Wright
of Midlothian TX and Slugger her pet. Also surviving her is her is an angel on earth, Elaine Medlin, her
caregiver.
Preceding her in death are the love of her life, husband Lawrence E. Reast, brother Sonny Wendeborn,
wife Marie, sister Ann Webb and husband Eddie, Sister-in-law, Mary Atwood.
Memorial contributions can be made to White Oak Community Church, Children’s Department.
