Carol, I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet your Mom. She was definitely a classic "Southern Belle" and very pretty. You were very fortunate to have her in your life for so long. When we worked together at the city of Longview I don't think I ever shared with you that your mom helped me establish my first savings account when I was about 10 years old. My father was with me and I remember that your mom addressed her questions to me since I was the account holder.She made me feel important which was a gift.particuarly since your mother seemed so powerful and I was small and ignorant. .

Mrs. Pliler was one of my favorite "moms" of all of my childhood friends. She was a friend of my family as well. Having remained in Longview all my life, I have been blessed to enjoy her friendship through many stages of life. She was such fun and was always appropriately dressed for the occasion whether she opened her home to us for slumber parties, served as an outstanding part of our community as a professional woman of distinction both at church and in her workplaces, grocery shopped for her family, or attended Women's Forum. She helped me establish my first savings account at First Federal! She honored our table at Women's Forum with her presence. A finer example for young women was hard to find as she always managed to display her beautiful smile and dignity. Mrs. Pliler made an impact on the lives of many and she will be greatly missed. My sympathy and love are offered to her loved ones, especially to my lifetime friend, Carol.
