Dorothy P Mosby's Obituary
Dorothy P. Mosby
"Granny"
At 87 years old, a loving, gracious, caring lady has been called home to serve as one of God's Angels. She was born in Hope, AR and raised in Texarkana, AR where she met Jack Mosby. The two of them were married and raised their family in Carthage, TX. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for over 50 years in real estate, oil field, and the plumbing supply industry. She retired in Longview to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, teaching them how to pick berries, crochet, make jellies and jams, bake cookies, while also playing superheroes, instilling morals, personal pride, deep family values, and most importantly to love and accept everyone you meet as they are . One of her greatest joys in life was helping and caring for other people especially those in need; she always volunteered at the Salvation Army, her church, and throughout the community. It was always without doubt that she was extremely proud of each member of her family. She was a lady that loved life to the fullest and danced through it like doing the jitter bug.
Mrs. Mosby was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Grace Pope; her brother and sister, Jesse "Sonny" Pope and Tiny Pope; and Jack Mosby. She is survived by her sisters Rose, Betty, Lucy, and Peggy; her children, Joe Mosby, Steve Mosby, Mike and Stephanie Mosby, Pam Browning and Jon Yeager, and Patty and Lonnie Green; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Joe D. and Dianne Mosby Levy, Crystal Wilson Jacqueline and Alyssia, Leigh Ann and Richard Pinner Logan, Emily, and Trey, Amber and Ben Clark, Jeremy and Kristin Stovall, Gregory Mosby, Sonny and D'Anne Mosby Claire, Charlotte, and Carris, Molly Mosby, Jenny Browning, Matt Browning Ryder, Dusty and Wendy Rogers Mikayla, and Chris Rogers; and special loved ones Alan and Laressa Browning, Dave and Pat "Yankee" Ross, Alex and Desiree Mobley Madison and Tyler and her Mosby Mechanical Family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 10th, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview from 5 – 8 pm, and graveside services will be on Friday, May 11th, at Center Cemetery in Harleton at 1 pm.
