Obituary – Dorothy Marie Davis

Davis, Dorothy Marie, 69, of Longview went to be with our Lord her Savior on Thursday, March 13, 2008 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dorothy was born February 2, 1939, in Killeen Texas. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview Texas. Dorothy was loved by those who knew her, due to her ability to make those around her feel special and because of her amazing ability to listen and to show compassion. Most of her friends and family considered her to be a best friend. She had a contagious smile and her spirit lit up any room. She loved going to her beach house in Galveston which was referred to by many as "The Place to Be". Many hearts have been touched and changed by this special woman.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Arvel and Amilee Barnes of Killeen.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jamie and Kimberly Davis of Longview, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Katherine Davis of Frisco, and daughter Traci Davis of Plano; Sisters are Norma Walker of Copperas Cove and JoAnn White of Killeen. Friend and former husband Glenn Davis of Lake Cherokee; The grandchildren include DeAnna Davis and Chris Davis of Longview, Austin Davis, Andrew Davis, and Grace Davis of Frisco, Taylor Gray of Cleburne and Allison Gray of Dallas. Great Grand-children include Rebecca and Nathaniel Roberts, Adyson and Bailee Gray; and all of her many family and friends.
The family will receive friends and family at 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th, at LeRoy Radar Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. The Memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17th, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Brother Steve Cochran presiding over the Memorial service. Burial will be at Rosewood Park under the direction of Radar Funeral Home.
