Dorothy L. ?Dot? Teague
Funeral services for Dorothy L. ?Dot? Teague, 81, of Longview, formerly a longtime resident of Gladewater, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Charles Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery, Gladewater. She died Tuesday morning in a Longview hospital following a brief illness.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept., 23, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Teague was born March 15, 1923 in Brownwood, TX., to Looney Charles and Myra Hopson Teague. She was a very giving person, and loved arts & crafts, and enjoyed sewing, painting and playing games. A resident of Eastman Estates, she was referred to by the administrator as the ?Official Watch Dog?, as she would sit at the entrance and take notice of everyone that came in. Mrs. Teague was a member of the First Christian Church in Gladewater, where in years past, she was very active. She was a retired deputy clerk for the Gregg County Tax Office.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilbur H. ?Slim? Teague, son, Larry Don Teague, and her brother, Charley Early.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Myra Ann Crawford of Longview; 3 grandchildren, Dean Crawford, Wesley Teague, and Angela Teague; 3 step-grandchildren, Jay Crawford, Nancye Alston, and Russ Crawford; sisters, Roberta Dixon of San Marino Valley, CA., Nell Jacobs of Dallas, and Laverne Gatton of Granbury, TX.; Aunt, Arlyne Wilder of Bertram, TX.; and several nieces and nephews.
