I remember and honor my Aunt Dorothy (or Dot as my generation knew her while we were growing up) as a wonderful wife & partner to my Uncle Tom; marvelous mother to my 3 cousins and their wives, children & grandchildren; devoted daughter to her parents & daughter-in-law to my grandmother Georgia Landers; loving sister & aunt; great gardener; someone who had an eye for all things blue; who learned to appreciate dogs as members of the family; and was a gracious neighbor to everyone who benefitted from her considerable kindness -- She was a most consummate cook in the grand tradition of fabulous Southern comfort food, and I recall her sons coming home to visit from UT asking Aunt Dot to please prepare their old favorite dishes such as her incomparable chicken fried steak & mouth-watering German chocolate cake, among many memorable recipes -- When we'd be out at the lake house on Cherokee of a summer, she'd catch, clean & cook up as many bream, catfish & bass as any active family could ever enjoy !!! As a committed Christian and life-long supporter of His church, my dear aunt has now joined her Lord and loved ones who have heard our Father in heaven say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
Until we meet again, I remain your niece, Candice "Candi" Landers Campbell (Decker)
