Dorothy Jean Baggett's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Baggett passed away peacefully surrounded by her friends and family on May 23, 2006, after a brief illness. Services will be 2 PM Friday, May 26, 2006 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in White Oak with Pastor Jay VanZandt officiating and under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the Funeral Home.
Dorothy Wade Baggett was born on May 4, 1929 in Gilmer, to Drue Holcomb Wade and Anna Belle Helms. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1947. After graduating from high school, Dorothy attended East Texas Baptist College and Columbia Bible College. She faithfully served as a pastor?s wife, homemaker, and mother. She also enjoyed her years in retail at Kleeb?s Toy Ranch in Longview.
Dorothy loved to spend time with her family, read, and enjoyed creating special cards for family and friends. For many years she was active in her church working with children, youth, and senior adults.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Baggett; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Drue Wade; and 1 brother Alfred D. Wade.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Glenda Baggett Stewart of Waco, and Martha Baggett Schwartz and her husband Bob of White Oak; grandchildren Randal Wade Stewart and Karin, Holcomb Stewart, Holly Elizabeth Bourland and Mark, Stephen Drue Schwartz, and David Aaron Schwartz; great-grandchildren, Annabel and Baker Drue Stewart; 1 sister, Gwen Cantrell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
