If you knew Dorothy, you knew you would never leave her home hungry. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether through a warm meal, a kind word, or simply opening her heart and home to anyone in need. She found her greatest joy in caring for others, and she poured her love into her family every single day. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was her life's greatest blessing.
Her faith in God guided everything she did. As a faithful member of Real Road Church of Christ in Longview, Texas, Dorothy quietly served the Lord with a humble and giving heart. She believed that loving others was one of the greatest ways to honor Him, and she lived that belief every day.
Dorothy shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Travis O. Gregg. Together they built a home filled with love, faith, laughter, and treasured memories that will live on for generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mattie Mae Moseley; her beloved husband, Travis O. Gregg; and her precious granddaughter, Miranda Gregg Mayes.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's loving memory include her five children: Sharon Richardson and husband, Dennis, of Gilmer, Texas; Danny Gregg of Arkansas; Don Gregg of Longview, Texas; Pam McGee and husband, Ronnie, of Hallsville, Texas; and Brenda Petersen and husband, Jason, of Hallsville, Texas.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Glenda Moseley, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family members whose lives were touched by her kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering love.
Dorothy's grandsons will proudly serve as her pallbearers. Her two sons and three sons-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Dorothy's faith has become sight. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, generous heart, and steadfast devotion to her family and to the Lord have left a legacy that will continue to bless all who knew her. We will forever cherish her laughter, her comforting hugs, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the example she set of a life lived with grace, humility, and unconditional love.
She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed until we meet again.
