Dorothy Jean Hooker Graff's Obituary
Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Hooker Graff, 87, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 18, 2019, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born August 2, 1931 to Wendell Coy and Agnes Luker Hooker in Carthage, Texas. She married John “Jack” Edward Graff of Marshall on August 25, 1950. She and Jack moved to Longview where they raised their three children. She was an active member of St. Anthony and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mattie Beth Hooker Newland, brother Wendell Coy Hooker, Jr. and her niece Carol Turner Lingard. Her happiest moments were spent in the kitchen preparing meals for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathi Graff Holbert and husband Mike; her son Gary Edward Graff and wife Ann of Longview; her daughter Kristi Graff Ward and her husband Ted of Austin. She was affectionately known as “Dottie” to her grandchildren Jennifer Holbert Price of Keller, Ellyn Holbert Cook of Longview, Christopher Neil Christian of Austin, Lacee Graff Osteen of Houston, and Bradley Tipps of Henderson. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy will be laid to rest at Memory Park in Longview. The family would like to thank all of those who cared for her at Buckner Westminster and HeartsWay Hospice.
