Dorothy Jean Golemon's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Golemon went home for a joyous reunion on June 5th. There waiting with open arms were her savior Jesus, followed by her husband “Speedy”, her precious daughter Donna and her perfect son Steve.
A long-time resident of Longview, Dorothy (Dot) raised four sons and a daughter, all attending Pine Tree Schools. Along with her husband, Clendon, she owned and ran Golemon’s Upholstery Shop in Longview until he went home to be with the Lord, then worked with her son Buddy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Greggton.
Born on March 20, 1930, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clendon Bownds Golemon, her daughter Donna Jean Smith, her son Stephen Allen Golemon, her sister Mary Yoakum, sister Marjorie Roberta Golan, and brothers Guthrie Layne Jr., Parker Layne, and James Bell Layne. She is survived by her sons Clint Golemon and his wife Lauren of Longview, Jerry Golemon and his wife Becky of Magnolia, Texas, and Ric Golemon and his wife Brynne of Lebanon, New Jersey, grandchildren Aimee Rider and husband Marc, Joshua Golemon and wife Jody, Kim Frey and husband Lee, Laura Golemon and Lisa Copeland and husband Justin. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Services will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8 at 2:00 PM.
We were so fortunate to have enjoyed her life with her for 89 years.
