Dorothy Goetzman
Dorothy Fox Goetzman, 87, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Longview, Texas, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers following a brief illness. Mrs. Goetzman was the daughter of the late Chester A. Fox and Sarah Jane Shepherd Fox. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Bobby Joe Fox, Nelda Fox Foster, Thomas W. Fox and Patsy Fox Justice.
Mrs. Goetzman was a lifelong resident of East Texas until 2002 at which time she moved to South Carolina. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Longview, where she was active in the children's Sunday School programs for many years. She retired from McCarley's Jewelers in 1987 after working many years in the gift department. She enjoyed her family, competitive sports, especially Dallas Cowboy football, oil painting, costume design, crafts and interior decorating.
She is survived by a brother, Ralph A. Fox of Palm Desert, CA, her daughter, Dona L. Goetzman of Sunnyvale, Texas, and her son, Charles R. Rudy Goetzman, Jr. of Aiken, South Carolina. She is also survived by grandchildren Vicky L. Staton, Jordan O. Goetzman, Sarah G. Duwel and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Memory Park in Longview. Rader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
