Dorothy Lee Chenoweth's Obituary
Dorothy Lee Chenoweth was born October 22, 1933 in Longview, Texas to W.F. Ellis and Willa Mae (Phillips) Ellis. She passed away on March 14, 2015 in Longview. Dorothy graduated Longview High School. She married the one and only love of her life, Howard Chenoweth, on March 29, 1951 and they spent the next 64 years together raising a family and traveling the country. Dorothy spent her entire adult life devoted to her family and for that, she is loved and cherished by all who called her wife, mother, aunt, grandma, and great-grandma.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Pat Zebrowski, and son James Lee Chenoweth. She is survived by her husban, Howard; siset, Margaret Braddock of Allen, TX; daughter, Barbara Simpson (Rick) of Shreveport, LA; son, David of Richardson, TX; son, Paul (Rhonda) of Gilmer; and daughter, Nancy Whittenberg (Clay) of Longview. She is also survived by grandchildren: Taylor Simpson (Katie), Jordan Simpson (Katie), Katie Potter (Matthew), Jay Whittenberg and Erin Whittenberg, and great-grandchildren: Marleigh, Eva, Andrew, Jack, and Anna. She is also survived by cousin, Stella Grammer (Billy Ray) of Longview; brother-in-law Craig Zebrowski of Marshall, TX and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Dorothy will be 11 am Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Pine Tree Church of Christ with Ritchie Hamm and Clay Whittenberg officiating. Visitation will follow at the church.
