Dorothy Rae Ballenger's Obituary
Dorothy Rae Ballenger was born to Jack and Lucile Mustin on November 27, 1934 in Hallsville, TX, and met Jesus face to face on July 25, 2026.
She was raised and educated in White Oak, and moved to Longview several years after her marriage to Jimmy Ballenger. Dorothy and Jimmy had one son, Darren, three grandchildren and other loved ones and friends. They were married 67 years. While in White Oak, Dorothy owned a floral shop, JD Florist.
After an early retirement for Jimmy, they bought an RV and traveled throughout the United States and Canada making great memories. While visiting in the Northeast and living among Amish families, she became interested in antiques, buying and selling in Canton and Hilltop. Antiques became her second love after plants and flowers.
Dorothy was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and a three and a half year resident of Buckner Westminster Place where she was well cared for and loved.
If desired, memorials may be given to either of these ministries.
A private family service is pending.
