Dorothy Gaugh Bagley's Obituary
Dorothy Gaugh Bagley, 95, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at her home.
Dorothy was born in Bemis, Tennessee on October 25, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Jessie T. Gaugh and Lillie Mae Womack Gaugh. She attended and graduated from County High School in 1947 and later attended and graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee in 1950. She was a registered nurse.
After graduating from nursing school, Dorothy worked in Tennessee for a while before relocating to Galveston, Texas with some friends. It was in Texas that Dorothy married. After landing in Longview, Texas, Dorothy had three daughters and spent several years as a mother and homemaker before returning to nursing. Dorothy worked for Texas Home Health until her retirement.
Dorothy was well known for being a very good cook and baker. Her cakes were to die for…She loved playing bridge with her friends and gardening. Her biggest love in the later years were her grandkids who will all remember her fondly.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents J.T. and Lillie Mae Gaugh and her sisters, Bonnie Gaugh Hargrove, and Nancy Gaugh Replogle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and son-in- laws, Lisa and Joe Young, Carolyn Bagley Lusk, and Susan and Jay Garland; her grandchildren, Catherine Garland, Victoria Garland, and Jimmie Lusk; her brother-in-law’s, William Hargrove and Jerry Replogle as well as one nephew, Bill Hargrove, and his family.
A private service will be held at date to be determined later.
Dorothy donated monthly to Highway 80 Rescue Mission and would have appreciated any memorial donations be made in her name in lieu of flowers.
