Dorothy B. Morphew's Obituary
Memorial services for Dorothy Biehl Morphew of Longview will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 12:00 noon at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Jonathan Jehorek and the Reverend Trudy R. Morphew officiating. A private burial at Lakeview Memorial Park will take place before the memorial service for the family. Services will be under the direction of Rader Funeral home of Longview. Mrs. Morphew passed away on Thursday, September 15 at her home in Longview with her family at her side. She was born on April 16, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa.
She had been a resident of Longview since 1962, previously living in Paris, Texas for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Randy Morphew. Mrs. Morphew was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She was active in the Presbyterian Women?s Association and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program for over twenty years. She also had been on the Board of Longview Community Ministries and for seven years was associated with that organization. She was also a member of the High Hopes Garden Club, Pinecrest Country Club and was an avid bridge player, being a member of the Tuesday Club for many years.
Mrs. Morphew is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Trudy Morphew of Tahlequah, Ok. and Larry and Cindy Morphew of Superior, Co. Her survivors also include grandchildren Christopher Morphew of Austin, Tx., Phillip Morphew of Dallas, Tx., Travis Morphew of Los Angeles, Ca., Holly and Stephanie Morphew of Denver, Co., and one great grandson, Billy Morphew of Austin, one brother, George Biehl of Vero Beach, Fla., one sister Mary Herold of Orlando, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, Longview; Hearts Way Hospice; and St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital.
