Doris Williams' Obituary
Doris Williams, born January 21, 1930 in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, went to her heavenly home on March 20, 2019.
She is survived by four children, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Children include Shirley Shelton, Linda Tillery (Quin Tillery), Dr. Andrew Williams (Dr. Jeannie Williams), and Dr. Joseph Williams (Kori Williams). Grandchildren include Scott Parker (Elizabeth Parker), Russell Parker, Stacy Ellis, Hunter Tillery, John Tillery, Dr. Steven Williams (Dr. Kelsey Williams), Dr. Shanna Barre (Derrick Barre), Jared Williams, and Colby Williams. Her surviving siblings are brother James Pool (Judy Pool) and sister Mary Holmes.
She was preceded in death by her parents Olin & May Pool, brother Olin Pool (Lonell Pool), sister Gloria Lawrence (Bill Lawrence).
Doris worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Gray in Longview and managed the Elks Bingo Hall for a number of years, as well as having worked in the genealogy department of the Longview Public Library. She loved playing bingo, card games, and dominos, and spending time with her large family and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, from 1-2 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview for a time of visitation. A graveside will follow at 3 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mia Levetan officiating.
