Doris Marie Koonce's Obituary
Doris Marie Koonce, 72, of Longview, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her home in Longview. Doris accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and is at peace now in her salvation.
She was born September 6, 1935, in Gladewater, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, travel, sewing, arts and crafts, and family.
She will be missed by her husband of 54 years, Bobby, by their children, Kathy Cannon and husband, Charles, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Richard Koonce of Longview; 7 grandchildren, Leslie, Alisha, Noel, Dwayne, Allan, Jeremy, and Eli; brothers, Arthur Austell of Gilmer, Rex Austell of Longview; sisters-in-law, Kay Austell and Peggy Austell; and countless friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Memorial services are set for Wednesday at 2 pm at Spring Hill First Baptist. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery.
