Funeral services for Doris Lanell Stone will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Doris was born in Henderson, TX on September 6, 1932 and went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the age of 79 years. She was a graduate of Judson High School where she was a varsity cheerleader. When young, she rode with the Longview Mounted Quadrille on her horse Trixie and was a barrel racer. She worked many years in the financial sector, and was a VP of Inwood National Bank of Dallas when she retired. Doris was proud of her heritage traced to the Trail of Tears and the Modoc Indian Tribe. Later in life, Doris and her husband Eugene Stone owned their own antiques business. Although she enjoyed life and many accomplishments, she considered her role of mother to be her fondest and most rewarding achievement. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Eugene E. Stone. She is survived by her daughter Donna Archer; son Michael Pritchett and wife Debbie; son Scott Stone and wife Cathy; and step-son Ed E. Stone and wife Connie; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; aunt, Joyce Fleischer; and numerous other relatives. "Granny", as she was called, will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to give a special thank you to HeartsWay Hospice and All American Home Health for the excellent care given to our loved one.
