Doris "Jean" Willcox
Doris Jean Willcox, born April 9, 1926 went home to be with Jesus January 17, 2009. She was born in Hugo, OK and grew up in Longview and was a 1943 graduate of Longview High School. She was a former resident of Lompoc, CA where she was a longtime member of the First Southern Baptist Church. She and her husband moved back to Longview in 2004 and were members of Mobberly Baptist Church. She was a retired line assignment clerk for Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and was a member of the East Texas Chapter #1 of the American Ex-POW.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend John Mooney officiating. Interment will be in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Puett L. Willcox, Jr. of Longview; daughter and son-in-law Darlene Quealy and Joe Quealy of Orcutt, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Puett L. Willcox, III and Karen Willcox of Reno, NV; grandson, Puett L. Willcox, IV of Pearl Harbor, HI and Oliver Willcox of San Diego, CA; great grandsons Puett L. Willcox, V and Noah Oliver Willcox both of Pearl Harbor, HI; son and daughter-in-law Don Willcox, Sr. and Rosalinda Willcox of Longview, TX; grandson Don Willcox, Jr. and granddaughter Carmen Willcox both of Longview; sisters and brothers-in-law Daisy and Bob Mays of Quitman, TX, Pat and Frank Willis of Irving, TX and Jo Griffin of Sherman, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rex and Georgia Willcox of Dallas; brother-in-law Jimmy Willcox of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
