Doris Marie Hargis' Obituary
Funeral Services for Doris Marie Hargis, 89, of Kilgore, Texas, will be h at 2:00 pm, on Friday, May 2, 2014, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, Rev Glen Barton and Rev Buddy Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 1, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
Doris was born on April 10, 1925, in Greenville, Texas to Maybelle and Percy (Jack) Bagwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s Tom Hall , Troy Hargis, her daughter Glenda Hall, brother P. D. Bagwell, Sisters Juanita Meyer, Loveta Reidel, and Janie Chappell.
She is survived by Son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Lucille Hall, Grandson and granddaughter Wayne and Alynda Hall, and great-grandchildren Shayla and Cheyenne Hall, and William and Alyssa DeCurtins. She is also survived by her sister Katherine Pepper of Berwick, Louisiana, many nieces, nephews and friends, as well as a throng of friends and family waiting on the other side of Jordan.
Doris received salvation in the 1940s in the Laird Hill Assembly of God, and attended many years, also, in the Emmanuel Gospel Church in Kilgore. She and many other relatives attended New London School at the time of the explosion, but was absent on the day of the explosion. She married Troy Hargis in September 13, 1945 and they resided in Alice, TX until 1996 when they moved to Kilgore, TX where she lived until her passing.
The family wants to express gratitude to our many friends who offered prayers of support and comfort prior to and since her passing, and to the God who hears and answers those prayers.
