Doris Jean Chrietzberg's Obituary
Doris J. Chrietzberg, 83, of Longview, TX went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 14, 2015. She was reunited with her husband, Tedd, who was waiting there for her on what would have been his birthday, Valentine’s Day.
Born in Frost, TX on April 19, 1931, to Herman and Doris Bagley, she was the fourth and last child in their family.
Doris graduated from Judson High School and went on to attend college at what is now East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. That is where she met the love of her life, Tedd B. Chrietzberg.
For several years, Doris worked in the front office of Borden’s Milk Co. branch in Longview until its closing and consolidation with the Marshall branch. She retired from the banking industry after holding several positions while at First Interstate Bank. She greatly enjoyed cooking and through the years did so for a lot of folks whether it was her family, friends, a group of LeTourneau University students, or church groups.
Special thanks go to the ladies at Visiting Angels Sitter Service and Faith Hospice who helped her during her last days.
Doris was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Frankie L. Chasteen and James L. Bagley; as well as her husband of 62 years, Tedd B. Chrietzberg. She is survived by her son, Les M. Chrietzberg and wife, Carol of Longview; 3 grandchildren: Katie Campbell and husband, Kyle of Mt. Pleasant; Travis and Logan Chrietzberg of Longview; 2 great grandchildren Emma and Hank Campbell; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 17th, from 6-8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February, 18th, at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Longview with Rev. Ben Clayton officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens immediately after the service.
