Funeral services for Doris Bounds Davis 76, of Longview will be held at Two O?clock pm Saturday December 22, 2007 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Scott Schulik and Al Birkeland officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Davis passed away Thursday December 20, 2007 in Longview.
She was born August 28, 1931 in Logansport, Louisiana to Jodie and Alice Gates Bounds. She was a Sales clerk at Young?s Jewelers and a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Doris served church through the nursery as a young mother, and as her kids grew her ministry grew with them. She worked as a leader for 8 years in Girl?s Auxiliary and as a youth choir sponsor in Hawaii. She served the Lord Internationally in Mexico aiding those constructing Sunday school classrooms.
She is survived by her husband, Bernis Davis of Longview, son, Jerry R. Davis of Longview, daughter, Rhonda Martin and husband Ted of Rockwall, Tx.; grandchildren, Chris Martin and wife Scarlett, Kyle Davis and wife Melissa, Drew Martin, Sara Davis, and Ryan Davis, great-granddaughter, Andie Noel Martin, sister Mollie Faulkner of Vernon, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Chesley Bounds, Shirley O. Bounds Hollis Bounds, and Calvin Bounds, two sisters, Elaine Hughes, Terion B. Hughes.
Memorials may be made to the Building fund at Mobberly Baptist Church 625 E. Loop 281 Longview, Tx. 75605.
