Dora Esteen Whitfield's Obituary
Graveside services for Dora Esteen Whitfield, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 with Dr. Laney L. Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Whitfield passed away on August 15, 2005. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and Judy Lamb's Sunday School Class. She was a true prayer warrior to both family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Whitfield was born January 5, 1917 in the White Oak Community in Marion County, Texas. Prior to moving to Longview in 1985, she had spent most of her life in Jefferson, Texas.
Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard Whitfield and brothers Reese Fant, Ray Fant and Roy Fant.
Mrs. Whitfield is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Margaret and Bobby Joe Comer; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Marsha Whitfield; a brother, Charlie K. Fant and wife Violet and a sister, Florence Mackie. She is survived also by her grandchildren Randy Comer, Teresa Simmons and husband Randy; Tina Calloway and husband Brian; Bryan Whitfield and wife Allison; and Stephen Whitfield and wife Anna. She has five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road..
