Donny Ray Nunnelley's Obituary
A memorial service for Donny R. Nunnelley, 60, of Longview, will be held Friday, May 30, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Lakins officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon to 2 PM Friday in the Chapel.
Donny was born to Herbert and Lorene Nunnelley on July 15, 1947 in Honey Grove, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2008. Donny will be remembered always for the love he has for his family and friends. He retired from Albertsons after 32 years. Those who worked with Donny knew him as a Director for his people. At the time of his passing Donny was employed at the Harley Shop in Longview. Donny carried with him many titles, always living up to the expectations of those who looked up to him. He taught us all by example to strive for perfection and to appreciate the things we were blessed with. Donny is survived by two siblings, brother: Tommy Nunnelley and his wife Vicki and a sister: Barbara Rhoades. Donny thought highly of many nephews, cousins, and a special Aunt Jo. Left here to cherish his youthful energy is his seven grandchildren, Jake, Cody, and Kyle Comeaux, Reagan Goodman, Rachel Hulsey, Brandon Sepulvado and Mattie Worden. Donny's face would light up when he was playing basketball, throwing horseshoes, playing cards, or giving rides on his Harley. Donny will forever be missed by his three daughters, Deanna Lawson of Baton Rouge, La, Sheryl McQuitty and husband Don E. of Longview and Shelly Worden and husband Dell of Calhoun, La. His girls will always remember the pedestal he placed their mother, Shirley Nunnelley, on 38 years ago and how much he loves her. Donny made many, many friends during his time with us but none more special than Charles and Jerri Day of Pritchett, TX and soul mate and best friend Mercy Usery of Longview.
