Mr. Donnie R. Wisinger's Obituary
Donnie Ray Wisinger, 74, of Longview, Tx, passed away on March 18, 2014 at Whispering Pines Lodge. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral of Longview. Officiated by his nephew Mike Walton. Burial will follow at the Walton Family Cemetery at approximately 12:30 PM in McLeod Tx. The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Don was born in Ida, La on February 22, 1940 to Obie and Norma Wisinger. He was raised in Vivian, La. Don completed his Petroleum Engineering degree at LSU and worked in the oil and gas industry for his entire career. He was a Legion of Honor 50 year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and was a Licensed Professional Engineer.
He married his wife Nell in 1961 and they had 2 sons, Sidney and Norman. He was an elder in the North Longview Church of Christ for over 20 years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Nell; his 2 sons and their wives Sidney and Shelley, Norman and Brandi; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
