Donna Lynne Strait's Obituary
Donna Lynne Strait, age 63, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 26, 2023. She was born March 23, 1960, in Longview, Texas to Jimmy and Janice Worley. Donna married her love, Steve Strait, on August 25, 1978; and they marked their 45th anniversary the day prior to her passing. Donna worked as an educational aide at Spring Hill ISD and later at Pine Tree ISD.
Donna was very creative and artistic and loved to decorate. Her sisters remember her sense of humor and that playing games with the family was a favorite activity. Donna’s faith was important to her, having accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. She spent many enjoyable summers with her Memaw Russell whom she adored.
Donna was preceded in death by her sons Clint in 2009 and Jonathan in 2023 and by her parents.
Left to hold dear her memory are her husband Steve, her son Chad and his wife Katherine of White Oak, and three sisters: Debbie Peurifoy and husband David, Karen McAfee and husband Shawn, and Susan Tolleson and husband Joe, all of Longview. She was Nana to grandsons Cayson, Noah and Alex. She also leaves her sisters- and brothers-in-law Carol Strait, Anita and Byron Sandifer, Ron and Sue Strait, and Betty Sue Strait; and nephews and nieces: Derek (Tara) and Drew (Chelsea) Peurifoy; Ryan, Brett and Hayden McAfee; Trent and Trey Tolleson; Brandon (Jamie) Strait; Bryan (Shelley) and Greg (Mary Ann) Simpson, Cheri Ashby, Angela Humphrey; Marty (Jana) and Mark (Alaina) Strait; Ryan (Hannah) Strait and Dylan Sandifer.
A memorial celebration/visitation will be Thursday evening, August 31, 2023, 6-8 pm at Grace Crossing Church of God, 1201 North White Oak Road, White Oak, Texas. This will be a time to share memories and for family and friends to visit and then share refreshments in the fellowship hall, and in honoring Donna’s wishes, no other observance will be held.
