Donna Lynne Hughes' Obituary
Funeral services for Donna Lynne Hughes, 56, of Longview, will be 12 Noon Wednesday, January 2, 2008, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with Pastor David Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
Donna passed away at home Saturday, December 29, 2007 following a brief illiness.
Donna was born May 12, 1951 in Lufkin to Lonel and Pearl Hughes. She was a life-long resident of Longview after her family moved to Longview in 1955. Donna was a 1969 graduate of Longview High School and attended Kilgore Junior College for two years.
Donna?s interior design career began with McDuff Interiors, and later for Nila Boatner Galleries and numerous individual clients. Her retail career included positions at Kennedy?s of Longview, Stewart Blood Center, The American Red Cross, McCarley?s Jewelry Company and Best Buy.
Donna was a member of First Baptist Church of Longview. She served her community for 35 years as a member of Zonta Club of Longview and Zonta International. She was a past club officer, committee chairman, a current member of the Longview Board and the District 10 Board, former Zonta Antique Show chairman and decoration chairman for 10 years.
Donna is survived by her mother Pearl Hughes, uncle: Louis Kennedy of Longview, numerous cousins including Kenneth and Raye Kennedy of Longview, Dr. Robert and Barbara Hughes of Center, Dr. Len and Ellen Hughes of Plano, Dr. Mack and Kathy Hughes of Palestine, cousin-in-law Sunny Hughes Parker of Hallsville and many wonderful friends.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 PM Tuesday afternoon, January 1 at the funeral home.
The family request that memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Zonta Club of Longview, or a church or charity of choice.
